Privacy Policy
Consent policy version: 2026-03-08-beta
Current in-product consent label: Privacy & Data Consent v2026-03-08-beta
PokerDeck ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
What we collect
- Account data: email address, display name, and authentication metadata (e.g., session identifiers). If you use Google sign‑in, we receive your verified email and basic profile per Google’s scopes.
- Product data: game/tournament settings, join codes, lobby presence, and gameplay events necessary to operate the service.
- Technical data: device, browser, IP address, and usage diagnostics for security and performance. We may use analytics for aggregate product metrics.
How we use data
- Provide and improve PokerDeck features and reliability.
- Authenticate hosts and secure access to private lobbies.
- Detect abuse and maintain service integrity.
- Communicate important updates (e.g., transactional emails).
Consent capture at collection time
PokerDeck beta records explicit, versioned consent when you submit data through tournament join, tournament registration, magic-link sign-in, and optional email opt-in flows.
- Required consent covers data processing and gameplay analytics needed to operate the product.
- Optional consent separately covers non-transactional emails such as reminders, standings, and beta updates.
- Stored consent records include the source surface, the scope flags you accepted, and the stable policy version shown above.
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication, gameplay, and session management. Optional analytics and support cookies help us understand product usage and run support tooling when enabled.
Visitors in the UK and EEA are asked to choose whether optional cookies may be used before those tools are activated. Visitors outside those regions may see a lighter notice model depending on the product surface. You can also control cookies via your browser settings.
Third‑party services
We may use trusted sub‑processors for infrastructure (e.g., hosting, databases, email delivery, analytics). These providers only process data to deliver the service and are bound by contractual safeguards.
Data retention
We retain account data while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for operational and legal purposes. During beta, account deletion is a support-driven workflow. When we approve a deletion request, we remove the account and identity records, scrub copied contact data, and keep completed tournament history only in anonymized form so other participants retain an accurate record of play.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights; we will verify requests to protect your account. Beta deletion requests are reviewed manually and can be delayed if a live tournament still depends on the account.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data. No method is 100% secure; please use strong, unique credentials for your accounts and report any suspected issues to support.
Children
PokerDeck is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). Do not use the service if you do not meet the age requirement.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices. Material changes to consent wording or meaning will ship under a new consent policy version and, where appropriate, be surfaced in-product.
